Gale Package 2006-2009
Califa and Gail McPartland, Systems' Services Director, negioted a 3-year contract for a Gale database package for BALIS, MOBAC, PLS, and SVLS. This information is confidential and is to be shared only among members of the systems' reference committees and those whom the members designate.

-There is a three-year contract, with an option for a fourth year

-Costs for 2006/2007 (year 1) will remain at 2005/2006 levels. Year 2 will have a 1% increase. Year 3 a 2% increase. The additional databases listed below are at no additional cost (unlimited and remote access included):

-Members with local subscriptions to these databases will receive credit as those contracts are superseded by the system contract.

-Gale Legal Forms, which comes from a third-party vendor, is not included, though at one time it had been discussed.

Califa/Gale Package Database List

Gale Inplementation Support and Technical Information

Staff and Patron Evaluation Tools
Zoomerang Survey - Detailed - This is an evaluation tool, which you can post on your staff intranet. It rates database features on a numbered scale and includes comments boxes. Respondents will be able to see others' responses. You can use it for either Gale or EBSCO databases.

Zoomerang Survey - Comments Only - These simplified evaluation tools, below, could be posted on both staff and public websites. Respondents type in the database name and their comments and select their library. Select the link for the system of which your library is a member. The results link shows each response and may include the name of the respondent. Patrons won't see the results unless you give them the link.
